I’m Mrs. Manju Nagpal from Dehradun. At 74, I never imagined I’d live without insulin or reduce my diabetes medications but with Freedom from Diabetes (FFD), that’s exactly what I’ve achieved. This is how my beautiful journey unfolded.
Key Takeaways
- Stopped insulin completely within 1 month of joining FFD
- HbA1c dropped from 7.8 to 5.5 in just 3 months
- Oral diabetes medication reduced from 2000 mg to 500 mg
- Lost 6 kg, now working on regaining strength
- Exploring other health aspects like slightly low eGFR
My Diabetes Story
I was first diagnosed nearly two decades ago during a routine check-up. No major symptoms, just general dullness. With no family history, the diagnosis came as a surprise.
I started with metformin, and over time, moved to insulin reaching 14 to 20 units per day, which started to worry my husband (a surgeon). He encouraged me to explore FFD, and even registered me himself.

My Reversal Story
The transformation was quick and impactful. Within the first month, my insulin was stopped completely under medical supervision.
My oral medicine was reduced from 2000 mg to just 500 mg. My HbA1c dropped from 7.8 to 5.5 in 3 months. This progress has been both empowering and encouraging.

Exercise & Daily Activity
While I wouldn’t call myself athletic, I’ve always been active walking 45 minutes daily, doing light yoga, and managing household work.
Meditation has been part of my life for over 30 years and continues to keep me grounded mentally and emotionally.
Now, my focus is on rebuilding strength and muscle mass, supported by the FFD team.

Inner Transformation
I had a lovely session with Udita Agarwal, my Inner Transformation (IT) coach. She suggested journaling and breathwork, which I tried initially.
Though I haven’t continued those practices regularly, the emotional clarity I gained has stayed with me.

Support from the FFD Team
I’m especially grateful to Dr. Vaishali Jadhav, who has supported me throughout this journey.
The entire team has been kind and informative though I’d love more frequent 1-on-1 catch-ups, especially when fluctuations happen.
My diet and exercise coaches have also helped me tailor my routine and rebuild stamina.

Current Health Outlook
I’m truly glad I joined FFD. It’s helped me understand my diabetes better and empowered me to take control.
Besides diabetes, other health concerns like slightly low eGFR are being looked into.
I’m satisfied with my diabetes control, but I do face periodic episodes of gastroenteritis, which is both annoying and worrisome.
It may be linked to long-standing diabetes, and I’m hoping to address it with the continued support of the FFD team.
